Friends,
We come to accept the fact that Ben has left the building. I don't blame him; he's distracted. Thomas and I will pick up the baton and carry on. Here are photos of the last few day's events.
No, we did not trade in the RV on something more substantial. We went to a museum that featured military artifacts. This thing gets even worse mileage than our rig, but it's easier to park.
Nick is still Nick; at least he respects tradition.
William, Anthony and Caleb strike a pose in front of the Illinois Govenor's office. The Illinois Capitol building is very beautiful. Go see it if you ever get the chance.

Thomas found a few friends that were willing to get in the inflatable with him.
We celebrated Ben's birthday. He is 24 now. Tiffany made a wonderful dessert to commemorate the event.
The boat is more than just a bedroom. We spent the day on Lake Clinton, which resides in the shadow of a nuclear reactor. If asked about the unfortunate incident, I will deny that it ever happened.
Ben is still Ben. He can't avoid an odd hat any more than Nick can avoid being attacked by large metal objects. Our time in Illinois is drawing to a close; we are planning to hid the open road on Monday morning. Ben is flying home and Thomas and I will pilot the RV along a route that will take us near the Canadian border. We hate to leave, we can't wait to get home. Life is full of difficult contradictions.be safe,

It was so sad to watch y'all drive away...Tiff and I just stood on the porch and cried. And now we've been moping about the house all day...it's too quiet. :( It was horrid to wake up and remember that y'all weren't there!

I still can't believe that y'all are gone. :( The past 18 days have been absolutely wonderful and I'll treasure each and every memory we made! Thanks so very much for putting up with us for so long... :)
The pictures are great!! I hadn't seen the one of Ben and his Hershey's hat! *sigh* What delightful memories... I'm going to have to send some CDs your way and get the pictures from y'all.
Y'all have been in our thoughts and pretty much the main focus of our converstaions all day. :) We'll be praying for y'all as you continue your journey home and I can't wait to see y'all again! 17 more days...
