Here are some wrap up shots taken on the day after the storm. Seeing as how the last photo contest was so popular, let's do another one. All but one of these shots were taken by Matthew. Can you guess which one isn't Matthews?
The pond froze solid enough to bounce rocks off of its surface.
You can always count on an icicle to point the way to the center of the Earth.
Helpful hint: Don't do this if you want to stay warm and dry.
The oaks greet each other over the deck, framing the end of the day.
I promised to tell you about our mid-storm dinner. Mrs. H and her crew prepared lamb chops and potato pancakes (Grandma Ruth's recipe) by candle light and without running water. It was the finest meal I've ever eaten.
The next blog will be an important announcement from a senior member of the family. Stay tuned.
be safe,

*gasp* That first photo is incredible! Em knew right away what that was! She is still amazed that the pond has water in it now. Her eyes got as big as saucers when she saw it. :)
All of the girls thought the snow pictures were lovely and are jealous that y'all had so much snow. It's snowing pretty heavily right now, so here's to hoping we get something besides a high of 17 degrees!
Bravo! The cooking crew still looks pretty happy too! What an accomplishment!
All but one of them? Now you took the last picture, because Matthew is in it, but it there another one that he didn't take?
Love y'all!
Absolutely amazing pictures!!
The last one!
Unless this is a trick question...of course! That is a totally Matthew thing to do! Set up a tripod, take the picture with him in it with the camera on a timer to get us to think that that is the picture.
Unless he wants us to think that. Maybe he really didn't take that picture, but knew that people would think he would trick them, so he put that picture in to remain a constant puzzle?
Unless he wants us to think that as well. Maybe he did take the picture, but knew we'd think that he'd be tricking us into thinking that he'd taken the picture, and that we would then think that, because of the trick, he hadn't actually taken it, and thus would have successfully taken the picture, put it in, and gotten us to not catch it.
Unless he...oh, never mind.
Well, if you're asking which one he didn't take just out of the snow pictures, then I'm guessing the third one I suppose.
But, of course it might be for all of the pictures. And I actually love taking pictures with myself in them. :p
So, we'll see.
I love the pictures! :-) You guys got more snow than we did. Is your electricity back on yet?
Snow snow go away... Come again, never.
Don't be pessimistic, Thomas! In the valley you WELCOME snow, not discourage it!
Matthew did not take the final picture. I feel bad for making everyone work way too hard at this.
